I want to help you feel your best!
Stacy O'Brien, RD, CLT
I know what it is like to have food intolerances and sensitivities! I too need to choose or avoid certain foods in order to feel my best...and to avoid days of bloating or rushing to the bathroom without knowing why. I vividly remember the panic while eating at restaurants-always aware of the nearest ladies room just in case I needed it. I also remember doing my due diligence, and seeing a GI doctor who told me something like “Oh you just have IBS, you’ll be fine”. Well, I was not fine then, but I sorted it out on my own (goodbye eggs and soy!!!) as I began my second degree in nutrition.
You see, I left my career in finance to pursue my growing passion in nutrition. I graduated from Montclair State University Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Food Science- Dietetics. I then completed my dietetic internship with Iowa State University and became a Registered Dietitian. I believe it is never too late to make beneficial changes in your life, especially when it comes to improving your quality of daily life through nutrition.
This is also why I continuously study functional nutrition and offer a variety of testing that your doctor may not offer (food sensitivity testing, stool testing to look at the gut microbiome, SIBO/glucose breath testing, etc.) to my clients as needed. Nutrition is personal! I use a personalized and integrative approach to help my clients. Together we look at more than just what you eat.
Did I mention I've even had SIBO? I know how miserable that can be firsthand, but I also know how to help you eradicate SIBO, heal your gut and help you to eat normally again.
Gastrointestinal health is my specialty, and I hope to help you use the power of nutrition to improve your symptoms and therefore your daily life!
I truly look forward to working with you!
An integrative approach
It is important to me that you get personalized suggestions on how to best move forward. I want all of my clients to feel their best. The way to do that is dependent each person’s needs. I take a “whole person” approach and use my training in functional nutrition to help my clients meet their goals in the most efficient way possible.
